Joanna and Alex's Wedding at Elora Mill

For my last wedding of 2021, I was thrilled to join Joanna and Alex and their family members at Elora Mill, one of my favourite wedding venues in Waterloo Region and as of 2023, I am proud to be a preferred photographer + videographer with Elora Mill and all Pearle Wedding Venues, including Cambridge Mill, Ancaster Mill, The Farm, Spencers at the Waterfront, The Pearle Hotel and Spa, and Whistle Bear. I’ve worked closely with the Pearle Weddings team across their venues for years now and I am so delighted to be trusted and recommend by them.

Take a look at this 100+ photo post from this beautiful New Year’s Eve Wedding, and come back to the blog for more as I catch up on blogging from 2021! With over 200,000 photos captured, it was an amazing year and I’m proud to say that 2022 will be my biggest wedding season yet.

Enjoy the photos!

Rebecca + Emmanuel | Elora Gorge Engagement Session

2021 was SUCH an amazing year for weddings and sessions. I have countless weddings and engagements to catch up on posting to the blog, and thought I would start off with Emmanuel and Rebecca’s sunset session.

During this engagement session we explored Elora Gorge and Elora Ontario, as well as walked around one of my favourite Ontario wedding venues Elora Mill.

Enjoy these photos and come back to the blog for more as I get caught up on posting from the 2021 season! And PS. If you’ve been meaning to reach out about your own wedding day, fill out my contact form ASAP! 2022 is nearly completely booked up already, with 2023 dates booking faster than I’ve ever seen.

Stephanie and Mark's Wedding Day at Cellar 52 St Jacobs

Cellar 52 in St Jacobs Ontario is one of my all time favourite wedding venues to work at, and I’m proud to be a trusted and preferred photographer with Cellar 52, as well as The Timber Barn, and Elle Villa and Gardens by Stella Co. Working with the Stella Collective at all of their venues feels like home to me at this point!

Please enjoy this small look back at Stephanie and Mark’s beautiful wedding at Cellar 52 in 2021. I was so happy to be reunited with these two, capture all of the amazing energy at their wedding day, and work alongside the Cellar 52 Wedding Venue team once again. I am looking forward to countless weddings at Cellar 52, The Timber Barn, and Elle in the coming months and years.

PS. I also filmed a highlight video for Stephanie and Mark while providing full photography coverage for their wedding day. I’ll link it to the top of this blog post once it’s complete!

Downtown Galt Engagement Photos | Becky and Dylan

Absolutely loved this engagement session with Becky and Dillon the other month! Like many areas in Waterloo Region, Downtown Galt/Cambridge is the perfect place to walk around and capture a dynamic set of images.

My goal with every engagement session is to get the couple moving and explore the surrounding areas together, rather than spending too much time in one spot. Since most people I photograph are uncomfortable on camera (to some degree or another), movement helps people to loosen up tremendously. PLUS, it’s pure fun. And fun is always welcomed.

Enjoy!

Hotel 52 St Jacobs Review

Hotel 52 is filled to the brim with charm, character, and comfort. Every detail has been intentionally designed, resulting in the perfect hotel for your stay in St Jacobs Ontario.

As a wedding photographer in Kitchener Ontario (right near St Jacobs), guest experience and comfort are at the top of my mind when recommending wedding venues. I want my couples to have an amazing time on their wedding day, and I want their guests to have a safe and luxurious experience before and after the wedding day.

So when the team at Cellar 52 asked me to come and take photos of Hotel 52 for their website and social media, I absolutely couldn’t wait. I’m thrilled to be a preferred wedding photographer at Cellar 52 (as well as their new wedding venue The Timber Barn), and always enjoy working with Trella, Stephanie, and Kristi (they are amazing!). Enjoy these photos of Hotel 52 St Jacobs, as well as the short promotional video I made at the same time.

Uptown Waterloo Engagement Photos | Ruth and Gabe

I often do engagement sessions in familiar environments because it pushes my brain to think differently about the space I find myself in each time, and strive to create unique images no matter how familiar (or mundane) a location is. Every engagement session (and wedding for that matter!) is different for me because I lean into the unique energy and enthusiasm of the couple first, and then let the lighting and environment inspire me from there.

Enjoy this Uptown Waterloo Engagement Session from August 2020. Ruth and Gabe were so much fun to photograph, and I can hardly wait for their 2021 wedding at Steckle Heritage Farm in Kitchener!

Gorgeous Wedding Day at Erin Estate Weddings | Natasha and Grant

All of my interactions with Natasha and Grant have been full of great conversation and so, so much laughter.

Their wedding day was no different. After considering postponing to a 2021 wedding date and navigating the rapidly changing landscape of COVID-19 restrictions in Ontario, they were able to pull off the wedding they always wanted at Erin Estate Weddings thanks to the help of the Erin Estate Weddings team and the rest of the amazing vendors they hired.

In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Natasha and Grant decided to add a wedding highlight film to their package, and I am so glad they did! I love being able to capture both for couples and provide a cohesive look back on their wedding day. With gathering sizes being reduced in 2020, it’s only been more important for couples to have a video of their wedding day as well - so guests that aren’t able to attend are still able to experience the vibrancy and magic from a distance.

PS. Since creating this blog post, I am proud to announce that I am now a preferred photographer with Erin Estate Weddings! If you’re planning your day at Erin Estate Weddings, reach out via my contact form for availability and packages. Looking forward to weddings coming up here in 2023, 2024, and beyond!

Creative Engagement Photos at Huron Natural Area | Stephanie and Mark

We had the best of both worlds for Stephanie and Mark’s engagement session at Huron Natural Area: beautiful fall weather, plenty of oranges and reds, but also warm summer air.

These two were so much fun to hang out with, and I can’t wait for their wedding day next summer at one of my favourite venues, Cellar 52 in St Jacobs.

Enjoy!

Spencers at the Waterfront Engagement Session

One day in the summer I made my way down to IKEA in Burlington, got some family furniture (and let’s be real - a couple IKEA hot dogs), and then met up with these two lovely people for their engagement session in front of Spencers at the Waterfront (Really cool wedding venue in Burlington!).

Katie and Mike actually got engaged at this park, so it was a meaningful place to return for their engagement session. While I do most of my engagement sessions in Kitchener or Waterloo, I am completely comfortable photographing anywhere and love exploring new locations with my couples.

This waterfront park was no exception and I loved getting to spend a warm summer evening walking around with these two.

Enjoy the photos!

Wedding Day at Calabogie Peaks Resort | Stephanie and Kyle

Stephanie & Kyle originally planned to get married in the heart of Ottawa, but unfortunately due to the pandemic, they were forced to put their plans on pause (like many couples in 2020).

As restrictions eased in Ontario, Steph and Kyle started reconsidering their timing and rethinking their plans. In the end, they decided to go through with an intimate wedding and elope at Calabogie Peaks Resort in the Ottawa Valley, just outside of Ottawa.

I had a blast photographing their wedding and their bride and groom creative portraits are some of my favourite so far this year (as well as the candids of their wedding guests of course). I’m very excited for more Kitchener Waterloo Elopements and Intimate Weddings in the coming months of 2020. Thank you Stephanie, Kyle, and the team at Calabogie Peaks Resort for having me. Calabogie Peaks was a delight to visit, and I look forward to capturing more weddings here in the future!

ALSO special thanks to Neat Cafe, about a 17 minute drive from Calabogie. I ate there every day of my trip and it was a delight. Their breakfast burrito and breakfast western were phenomenal - I can’t wait to return one day.

If you’re visiting this blog post from somewhere else, hi! I’m Liam - I’m a creative and candid wedding photographer based in Kitchener Ontario but I love travelling for weddings around Ontario + the world as well. If you’d like to bring me to your wedding at Calabogie Peaks or anywhere else,, fill out my wedding contact form here.

Intimate Cottage Wedding on the Lake | Rachel and Josh

Like many couples in 2020, Rachel & Josh were forced to postpone their wedding day plans but in the meantime, they did something special and unique to the two of them and their relationship (which I always recommend)…

They got married at the family cottage, in Grand Bend Ontario. It was a beautiful day filled with laughter, subway, and at the end of the day, quite the sunburn. Hah!

I also filmed a highlight film for Rachel and Josh, to give their friends and family another look at the wedding since so many important guests and family members could not be present.

If you’re new to my blog or work in general - welcome! I am a photographer as well as a filmmaker, and offer “hybrid coverage” as a one man team. I find this style of coverage greatly beneficial for couples, especially areas like this where it is more practical to have one person doing both rather than another team.

Enjoy and feel free to comment so I know you’re here!

Hannah and Grant's Downtown Stratford Engagement Session

I’ve always loved downtown Stratford (especially in the summer), so I was thrilled when I found out that Grant & Hannah wanted to do their engagement photos there in summer 2019. There’s nothing more fun to me than walking around a city and exploring all of the creative opportunities available. Enjoy!

Leah and Zac's Wedding Day at Cellar 52 St Jacobs

Since photographing this wedding, I am proud to share that I am now a preferred vendor and photographer at Cellar 52 and I think it has become my most-photographed venue in Kitchener Waterloo! As well as being a preferred photographer at Cellar 52, I am also preferred with The Timber Barn and Elle by Stella. I am so proud of my relationship with the Stella Collective, they always go above and beyond to ensure my couples have an amazing wedding day.

It was such an honour to be a part of this wedding day at Cellar 52 in St. Jacobs (one of my favourite wedding venues!). Leah & Zac had originally planned on an outdoor ceremony, but with the heat that day, plans were changed last minute to move the ceremony indoors. This couldn’t have been done so effectively without the help of Michelle from Maeck Weddings and the team at Cellar 52.

I also have a 13.5 minute behind the scenes video on my Youtube channel showing exactly how all of these photos were taken and what my thought process was behind each photograph. If you liked this blog post, be sure to check out this other blog post from a Cellar 52 wedding I had in July 2021.

Enjoy!

Rae and Corey's Wedding Day in Elora Ontario

Blogging has always been something that’s been tricky to work into my business and lifestyle from a workflow perspective. In 2020, I want to change that. While you can get a sense of my work through my main portfolios and instagram - I believe that stringing together visual stories is where my work starts to truly come alive and I hope to show you as much as possible this year.

Enjoy this look back on Rae & Corey’s beautiful Elora Ontario wedding from June 2019!
